Machaelle Small Wright: Behaving as if the God in All Life Mattered
Jim Collins: Built to Last: Successful Habits of Visionary Companies
Jim Collins: Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap... and Others Don't
Summarily the best business book I have ever read. Read it. Apply what you learn. And watch what happens.
David Allen: Ready for Anything: 52 Productivity Principles for Work and Life
Perfect complement to Getting Things Done. Read 'em both. You will never continually access "the fantastic" side of leadership (and life) if you do not do the "the mundane" aspect well. The fantastic springs from the mundane. Ready. Apply. Repeat. Break free. This is beyond prioritization and productivity--it is to discipline the self.
Stephen R. Covey: The 8th Habit: From Effectiveness to Greatness
L0: Dr. Covey's Seven Habits was my entree into leadership and personal growth and development. The 8th Habit brings more, much more. It rings in Covey's view of where leadership is headed, and what it will take (self knowledge) to become that type of leader. It rings true. It's a recommended read.
David Allen: Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity
L1/L2: For twenty years I've been in search for the Holy Grail of planning and organizing. I've gone to more seminars, read more books, bought more software and gadgets than perhaps anyone, looking for that magic bullet. Conclusion? There isn't one. However, David Allen's work is the best I have found to date, and the process I strive to apply in my own life. I wholeheartedly recommend it to my clients, family and friends. It is intensely practical.
